Our work depends on a Network Engineer joining our team to help maintain a highly-available enterprise network and cloud environment.GDIT has the privilege of supporting the US Department of Energy's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). OCIO leads the Department’s IT initiatives and advances the Department’s missions through innovation while balancing risk. This position is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze customer requirements and solve complex problems with highly innovative solutions.
  • Provide expert knowledge for maintenance and upgrade of networks including Linux systems, F5 load-balancers, routers, switches, scripting languages, and networks.
  • Provide expert knowledge to sustain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Create plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
  • Design and build hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
  • Evaluate new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities.
  • Stay current on knowledge of relevant technology.
  • May consult with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions.
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task lead and recognized as a SME in network engineering.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 10+ years of experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Routing and switching, Linux administration, Scripting
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Communication, Problem Solving, Customer Service, Mentorship
  • Desired Skills: Extensive knowledge and working of DNS; Scripting languages
  • Security Clearance Level: Current TS or (or able to obtain)
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Location: Hybrid, Remote/On Customer Site (Albuquerque, NM)
applicant must be in Albuquerque, or willing to relocate (with GDIT assistance)The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
