Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, ADA, and Nevada Gaming regulations by conducting inspections and audits, responding to citations, and serving as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and internal legal counsel
  • Lead the implementation of safety and risk management programs across Nevada properties by coordinating cross-departmental prevention efforts, analyzing incident trends, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead thorough root cause investigations of employee injuries, guest incidents, near-misses, and property damage; document findings, identify contributing factors, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Coordinate and manage Nevada general liability, property, and auto claims in collaboration with insurance carriers, legal counsel, and property leadership; assist with Workers' Compensation case management to ensure timely resolution and compliance
  • Lead property-level safety committees and initiatives to ensure localized ownership of safety performance, enhance employee engagement, and support alignment with corporate risk goals and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and monitor the region's Experience Modification Rate (EMR) by using data analytics to guide safety initiatives, collaborating with insurance partners on policy renewals and risk control strategies to maintain EMR below 1.0
  • Develop, deliver and monitor safety training programs, including onboarding, food safety, emergency response, and ServSafe certification; evaluate training effectiveness and ensure alignment with compliance goals
  • Maintain detailed, organized records of all claims, investigations, incident reports, and supporting documentation for audit readiness, trend analysis, and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation (e.g., SDS, COIs, inspections), address ADA and accessibility concerns, and ensure company procedures stay current with evolving regulatory requirements
  • Based at J-Resort Reno with travel to Elko, Carson City, and surrounding areas
  • May travel up to twice per year to assist other regions as directed
  • Indoor/outdoor facility walkthroughs required
  • Must be available after work hours, including nights, weekends, or holidays
  • Work in environments that experience seasonal weather
Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Safety, Risk Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of multi-site safety/risk management experience (hospitality or gaming industry preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, food safety standards, and ADA regulations
  • Proven experience with incident investigation and regulatory audits
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with surveillance/reporting systems
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry (required or must obtain within 60 days)
  • ServSafe Manager Certification (preferred or must obtain within 60 days)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Nevada Gaming Registration (required)

  • Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States
