- Oversee personal injury case files from beginning to end
- Research case law and premises liability, and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case
- Converse with clients, expert witnesses, supporting witnesses, insurance company adjusters, and medical providers to gather information
- Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and litigation
- Supervise and delegate tasks to the team of legal assistants, personal injury paralegals, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretary
- Membership in the State Bar Association and a state license to practice law is mandatory
- A bachelor’s degree and a J.D. degree is required
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, research, and communication skills are desired
- Proficiency in computers is vital
- 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas is needed
- Illinois licensed lawyer with 2+ years of personal injury experience
- Experience attending court, hearings, and arguing motions
- Experience taking and defending depositions of parties, witnesses, police officers, and medical providers
- Experience handling mediations and settlement conferences
- Excellent drafting, research, negotiation, and communication skills
- Trial experience is a plus, but not necessary
