
Personal Injury Paralegal

- Case Management: Assist in managing all aspects of personal injury cases from initial intake through settlement or trial.
- Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates, answering inquiries, and gathering necessary documents and information.
- Legal Documentation: Prepare, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery requests, and medical records.
- Investigation & Research: Conduct legal research, gather evidence, and assist in investigation efforts to support cases. This may include obtaining accident reports, medical records, and witness statements.
- Discovery Process: Assist in the discovery process by preparing and responding to discovery requests, organizing case files, and tracking deadlines.
- Settlement Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for settlement negotiations, including drafting settlement demands and compiling supporting documentation.
- Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys with trial preparation, which may include preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- File Organization: Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are filed accurately and deadlines are met.
- Billing and Timekeeping: Track billable hours and assist with billing tasks as needed.
- Education: Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; paralegals certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a personal injury and/or products liability paralegal, with a strong understanding of the legal processes related to personal injury claims and litigation.
- Skills:
- Experience with Westlaw research REQUIRED
- Litigation experience REQUIRED
- Plaintiff experience preferred
- Discovery experience (interrogatories and document production)
- Proficient in legal research and case management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and personal injury law is a plus.
