An exciting opportunity has arisen as a Workshop/Field Service Engineer, reporting to Regional Manager Propulsion- North America based in Galveston, TX. In this role, you will primarily work with Kongsberg UUC Propulsion product for mechanical/hydraulic services, commissioning and upgrades related to the product. The position requires availability to travel (domestic and international) to attend service and training in planned or short notice demands including weekends and holidays, whenever required.Key Accountabilities:The following activities are to be carried out under supervision:
  • Work as part of a team to repair or overhaul marine equipment and systems to meet specification and tolerances, with particular focus on UUC propulsion products.
  • Verify dimensions and clearances to ensure conforming to specification.
  • Conduct tests and inspections to QA/QC standards.
  • Read schematics, diagrams and technical order to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Inspect, analyse, record calibration results and produce Service and Technical Reports.
  • Report progress and issues to the nearest supervisor.
  • Ensure that all work is done in accordance with applicable legal and Company procedures and instructions, including Health &
  • Safety policies.
  • Undertake product training as required.
  • Support Workshop Lead in all workshop activities
  • Support off-site removal/install of propulsion equipment
  • Support the Workshop in Galveston and other locations
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent education in an Engineering and/or Technical Discipline and/or minimum of two years of in the Marine Industry.
  • Strong verbal communication and written reporting skills in English language
  • Microsoft 365 package user level
  • Valid Passport
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the US without company sponsorship
  • Availability to travel with short notice, after hours, holidays/weekend, for long periods both locally and internationally.
