Monitor student progression to ensure compliance with funding conditions. Advise students on funding options and help them to navigate the challenge of funding their programs. Collaborate with Associate Dean and other faculty to apply for, provide post-award support for, assess and report on, and monitor the status of internal and external scholarship and grant funding programs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Scholarships, Student Finances and Grants Manager (Administrator-Program Operations (E S 8)) will administer scholarships and loans for approximately 600+ School of Nursing students at different degree levels; systematically assess and propose School of Nursing scholarship/recruitment policies. They will administer and oversee 120+ scholarship/loan budgets as well as apply them to, monitor, and report outcomes to external grant agencies. They will be responsible for communicating scholarship opportunities to the SON community on a regular basis.The dimensions for this role and impact to the University as a whole includes recruiting and funding decisions for 600+ students in the School of Nursing where we must meet federal, local, UW and donor guidelines and which must be distributed fairly, transparently, and consistently. Inconsistencies, violations of regulations and obligations to funders would harm the reputation of the UW School of Nursing and may harm student recipients' education outcomes and future donations/gifts to the School of Nursing.SoN Scholarships and Grants Administration (60%)
- This position has delegated authority for purchasing, budget management, grant disbursements, and scholarship decisions for the School's 120+ scholarship/loan budgets.
- The Scholarships, Student Finances, and Grants Manager will facilitate School of Nursing scholarship disbursements once funding decisions are made, ensuring that awards are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- The Manager will project budget statuses for each scholarship fund and develop financial support packages for recruitment of new students.
- Manage and provide regular reporting for the School's RWJF grant, Jonas Scholars award, NFLP loan, various HRSA grant programs awarding funding to students, and any other grant funding received in the future.
- Manage this scholarship process along with the PhDCC, DNPCC faculty, and HS Administration for the SoN student nomination for the Magnuson Award and compose the letter of nomination for the Dean's approval.
- Participate in the budget reconciliation process with SoN Business Office Program Coordinator to ensure that all grant and scholarship transactions are accurate and complete (for the purpose of audit, reconciliation, and tracking/projection of funding for upcoming student scholarship awards).
- Manage and update School of Nursing dashboard and metrics information for School of Nursing website.
- The Scholarship manager will design and manage the SoN scholarship application process for 600+ students across undergraduate and graduate degree programs; coordinate, review, and make award recommendations to the Director of Student and Academic Services and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.
- Orient current and new students to the School of Nursing's financial aid policy, provide information related to tuition, student scholarships, loan repayment programs, etc.
- Meet with and advise students who are receiving specific scholarships/grants to review guidelines and restrictions, and approve any/all reimbursements for dissertation awards.
- Meet with students to review the rules and conditions of their funding.
- Advise students on general educational funding strategies and resources.
- Assist with the coordination of an annual SON convocation ceremony.
- Interface with Office of Commencement, University event staff, and catering services.
- Manage communications to faculty, staff, and graduating students including distribution of tickets and event protocol.
- Equipment purchasing, inventory, and occasional event coordination for the Student and Academic Services unit.
- Other duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic goals of the UWSoN.
Administering scholarship and loan process, providing post-award support for grants awarding student funding.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in a social science or any related field with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
- Experience in program administration and/or management in an education, healthcare or academic health care setting.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
- Should possess superb organizational skills, an ability to multitask, prioritize competing priorities, work independently, and meet important deadlines.
- Must be comfortable working independently and in a collaborative team environment consisting of diverse populations of staff, faculty, fellows and other administrative personnel.
- Experience and knowledge of federal and University financial aid regulations.

- Master's degree in finance/business, higher education, or related fields.
