
QA Automation Test Engineer

- Develop test strategies in coordination with team members and system owners
- Determine optimal testing approach and tools for target applications and systems including automated, manual, performance and accessibility testing
- Execute, document, and report on tests, communicate results to the team and system owners
- Integrate all tests with established CI/CD tools and processes. All test execution must be integrated with existing on- premises environments hosted in Azure DevOps
- Ensure all test results are published though existing CI/CD tools and checked in to source control
- Produce test reports on a routine basis
- Engage proactively to ensure testing approach is sound and provides meaningful outputs
- Provide feedback on accessibility gaps and suggested improvements to ensure accessibility standards are met
- Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) or equivalent of 4 years additional experience
- 5+ years’ experience in using automation tools for testing systems and applications, writing and executing test scripts
- 3+ years’ experience with automation testing tools, PlayWright preferred (e.g., GitHub Issues/GitLab Issues, Selenium, Cypress, SonarQube, NeoLoad, and/or Postman)
- Experience developing automation and performance testing strategies and frameworks
- Experience with performance testing tools
- Ability to use GUI driven tools to record UI actions
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG 2.2) and testing tools such as WAVE, aXe, pa11y, ANDI, Color Contrast Analyzer, JAWS, and NVDA
- Experience performing manual accessibility testing with screen readers and other accessibility tools
- Experience operating in a CI/CD automated pipeline
- Comfort with rapidly changing applications and environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with collaborating and working across functional teams
- Experience with Azure / .NET
- Federal Government experience as a contractor
- DHS Trusted Tester Certification (free accessibility training)
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Active Public Trust (or higher) clearance
- This is a remote/work-from-home position. The employee is expected to maintain a professional and distraction-free home office environment with reliable internet access and the ability to participate in video and audio calls during standard working hours. Standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, and webcam will be used regularly.
