Work Hours: 8 AM - 4 PM (including .5 hours unpaid lunch)

- High School diploma required
- Prior experience in medical assistance claims processing preferred
- Database systems, data entry experience preferred
- Background in data management systems, with proficiency in tools such as Excel, for organizing, analyzing, and reporting on data preferred
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in the performance of routine assignments.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community.
- Knowledge of database system software is preferred. This position requires a detail oriented, on-task and focused person for consistent accuracy checks and timely billing submissions to agencies. Candidate must demonstrate sound decision-making skills. This position is responsible for researching and assisting service providers with any problems that may arise.
- Ensure the processing of all ACCESS medical assistance claims for all CCIU Programs through diligent research, sound decision making and, where needed, informing district personnel of proper processes and procedures.
- Verify and research eligibility of all new and potential students using electronic Promise system. Continually monitor students that are potentially eligible for ACCESS billing and reimbursement based on receipt of various related services.
- Prepare and send letters to parents for acknowledgement or denial of MA billing process.
- Upon researching and determination of eligible children and parent acknowledgement, obtain copies of IEPs from districts and assist the ACCESS Medical Assistance Specialist with the procurement of signed and medically approved authorization forms from the designated medical professional.
- Verify billable services and process/bill all eligible IEP billings.
- Notify and educate, where necessary, service providers to start billing procedures.
- Research, add and edit student information in database as well as web-based billing system at the start of the new school year, as new students enter the billing process, and as changes occur.
- Research billing forms to determine if service is billable and process eligible billing through state vendor electronic billing system.
- Create and organize student folders with all required components to maintain adherence to PA State regulations.
- Research student lists and rosters to identify all potentially eligible students and billable services on a quarterly basis.
- Research and follow up on service claims not submitted by service providers on a quarterly basis, send reminder notices and decide if further action is needed.
- Process electronic logs and upload into state vendor system for billing.
- Continually research and maintain current lists of all eligible service providers and copies of service provider certificates and/or licenses to be updated in state vendor on a regular basis or when there is a change in status.
- Continually communicate with service providers and staff verbally and/or in written format informing them of new students, billing issues, license information, etc.
- Assist Supervisor of Student information Systems in training providers about the billing process.
- Attend ACCESS Program trainings conducted by state vendor.
$40,654 - $50,817 annually
