ControllerWe are partnering with a dynamic and fast-growing organization in search of a Controller to help build and lead the internal accounting function. This role will be instrumental in establishing best practices, managing day-to-day financial operations, and supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate thrives in hands-on environments and brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to their work.ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly close, reconciliations, forecasting, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAPOversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and cash flow managementCollaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, ensuring alignment with company goalsDevelop and implement internal controls and scalable accounting processes to support business growthServe as a trusted partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data and performance metricsLead compliance activities including tax filings, audits, and adherence to regulatory requirementsPrepare and present financial updates to executive teams and company-wide stakeholdersPartner cross-functionally to evaluate and support operational initiatives and new systems implementationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA required; CMA a plus5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance standardsAdvanced Excel skills; experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.)Comfortable implementing new systems and building scalable processes from the ground upStrong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skillsProven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
