Controller
CPA Required | Hybrid | ASC 606
Our client is looking for a Controller who will lead core financial operations for a dynamic and growing organization in the healthcare technology space. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution, ideal for professionals experienced in fast-paced, early-stage environments.Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Drive timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, and prepare financial statements and executive summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP and ASC 606 and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Manage tax filings and serve as the primary liaison for external audits and accounting partners.
  • Lead migration from basic accounting software to a more scalable ERP platform.
  • Build and mentor a small but capable finance team as the company expands.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop forecasts, budgets, and financial models that support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor capital expenditures and manage the lifecycle of fixed assets.
  • Assist with financial aspects of contract review and deal closure.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Solid experience in transactional accounting and financial reporting. Prior exposure to startup or small business environments is highly valued.
  • Preferably from healthcare, biotech, or medical device sectors. Candidates from unrelated industries may not be a match.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite.
  • Comfortable with both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
