For more urban pursuits, Roanoke, Charlotte, and Washington D.C. are not far away.Job Description:Instructional AideBefore/After School Connections ProgramPrices Fork Elementary SchoolMontgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is accepting applications for a Before/After School Instructional Aide position that is available in the Connections Program at Prices Fork Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year.JOB DESCRIPTION:The Connections Instructional Aide assists the Connections program coordinator by working with elementary aged students on educational and enrichment activities. The position requires both before and after school work hours on MCPS school days and additional work hours as needed on non-school days. The aide works a flexible schedule on school days during the school year. On non-school days or during the summer months, the aide may work additional hours as needed and approved. The position allows the aide to work up to 25 hours per week.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successful completion of an associate degree, 48 semester hours of college from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Para-Professional Assessment Exam
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength
  • Ability to cooperate with other staff members
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
  • Dependability and punctuality required
  • Ability to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in support of students and school operations
  • Have the physical ability to repeatedly lift heavy objects (20+ lbs.) as needed
  • Ability to support school functions and community activities as deemed necessary
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents
  • Ability to be dependable and punctual
