
MCFR Senior Assembly and Integration Engineer

- Support construction activities for the MCRE Mockup reactor.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with contract plans and specifications.
- Maintain the MCRE and Mockup design documents, including but not limited to 3D models, general arrangement drawings, system-level assembly drawings, P&IDs, interface points, and facility interface drawings.
- Develop installation requirements for a modularized assembly of MCRE.
- Monitor daily and weekly construction progress.
- Coordinate on-site efforts of the integrator, test engineers, and technicians to ensure the smooth assembly of the Mockup in Everett.
- Track and record deviations between as-built and as-designed conditions.
- Coordinate installation and assembly feedback from the Mockup constructor with internal and external design teams to address the following MCRE items during various phases:
- Serve as liaison between integration contractors and the design team by addressing needs for clarification and how to execute the overall assembly and integration sequence.
- Develop detailed assembly sequences and plans, including Division of Responsibility for readying equipment modules and skids.
- Develop an assembly and installation sequence of MCRE into the INL facility, including component and module handling and a shipping/transportation plan.
- Review module and assembly skid arrangement and interface points, including specific interface joints/flanges/couplings needed, handling equipment, detailed sequence, inspections, and design updates.
- BS degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (Level 10), or 10 years (Level 11) as an equipment engineer, equipment install and commissioning lead, plant equipment construction coordinator, chemical process engineer, or similar role.
- Experience with taking a conceptual R&D project from design to integration and commissioning to operation.
- Experience with understanding, writing, and integrating specifications, reading complex design drawings, understanding 3D plant models, and eliminating all information disconnects.
- Experience with industrial process plants, large/complex high-temperature machines or test facilities preferred.
- Familiarity with lifting and rigging planning.
- Experience with 3D plant model reviews and clash detection.
- Ability to consistently deliver to an aggressive schedule and develop workarounds for the inevitable but unforeseen delays.
- Self-motivated: able to seek out tasks and produce value aligned with team goals without waiting for the next assignment.
- Proven record of completing machine builds and interfacing with engineers, project managers, and craft workers.

- Molten salt experience a plus.
