
Undersea Systems Test Engineer

- Work closely with the SE team to perform a system requirements analysis (SRVM/RTVM).
- Review the program’s formal Statement of Work dealing with system/product testing to ensure a complete understanding of the full scope of testing.
- Develop/document detailed test plans, procedures, reports, and master test plans.
- Decompose test cases into constituent tests in collaboration with the development engineering team.
- Work with design engineers, production personnel, customers, and other stakeholders to identify and develop verification methods for system, subsystem, and component level requirements.
- Plan, manage, and track project test efforts.
- Provide field support planning, shipboard mobilization/de-mobilization support, shipboard at-sea testing and operational support, and other field support in general.
- Skills commensurate with primary responsibilities described above.
- BS degree and 5-10 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 4+ years of prior relevant experience.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work without close supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to include effective and professional communication (written/verbal).
- Ability to take initiative in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues; creative in determining approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
- Ability to resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.
- Ability to understand software architecture and execute software scripts in support of software testing.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in enclosed spaces.
- Previous experience with electromechanical hardware, electronics, and software integrated system test.
- Ability to travel to other Leidos sites up to 25% of the time
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance
- Maritime systems and/or ocean engineering experience greatly preferred.
- Experience working on Linux based OS.
- Experience writing Bash scripts to support testing efficiency and utilities.
- Experience with python, MATLAB, C, C++.
- Prior experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
- Prior experience with hardware and software system integration.
- Prior experience with unmanned underwater vehicles and associated electronics/sensors, underwater cables/connectors, control and monitor electronics, launch and recovery subsystems, and system-to-host interfaces, including acoustic ranging and communications.
