Relocation Assistance: Case by caseJob DescriptionOverviewWe are seeking a dynamic Director of Surgical Services to oversee perioperative operations in a high-volume, fast-paced acute care hospital in the Bay Area. This role carries responsibility for 12+ ORs, SPD, Pre-Op, PACU, PAT, Endoscopy, and Anesthesia Techs, with a team of approximately 120–154 FTEs. With a focus on quality outcomes, growth, physician engagement, and operational excellence, this position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a leading tertiary referral center.ResponsibilitiesProvide executive leadership for Surgical Services, ensuring safe, efficient, patient-centered care.Oversee clinical and operational areas including OR, SPD, Pre-Op, PACU, PAT, Endoscopy, and anesthesia support.Lead strategy to expand complex service lines (spine, ortho, neuro, and others).Partner with physicians to strengthen engagement, streamline workflows, and grow surgical volumes (7,000+ cases/year).Recruit, develop, and mentor perioperative leaders and staff to sustain a culture of accountability and excellence.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and quality benchmarks.Manage departmental budgets, capital equipment planning, and resource allocation.Serve as a visible, hands-on leader able to step in clinically (scrub or circulate) when needed.Drive performance improvements using data and metrics to achieve measurable outcomes.Collaborate across disciplines to enhance patient experience and ensure safe, effective care delivery.QualificationsRequired:Active RN license (California or eligibility to obtain; interim administrative work may be available while awaiting CA license).Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).Minimum 3 years of acute care leadership experience in Surgical Services (Director or Manager in a large, complex hospital).Preferred:Master’s degree (MSN, MBA, MHA, or related field).5+ years of perioperative leadership in a tertiary/high-acuity environment.CNOR or CSSM certification.Union experience.Demonstrated success leading service line growth initiatives.Additional InformationCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $184,683 – $230,838/yearAnnual performance incentive bonus up to 17.5%Sign-on bonus available (case by case)Relocation assistance (case by case)Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer match and retirement readiness programsEmployee stock purchase plan (discounted shares)Paid family leave, PTO, and disability coverageTuition reimbursement and continuing education supportWellness programs, employee recognition, and growth pathwaysIdeal ForThis position is ideal for seasoned perioperative leaders who thrive in fast-paced, high-growth surgical environments.
