As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide technical and process/production support for the manufacture of gas turbine components used in aerospace and industrial applications. You’ll develop and optimize CNC machining and EDM die sink processes, create new fixtures and tools, and troubleshoot existing processes. Additionally, you’ll support project teams, apply Lean methodologies, and collaborate with the Chromalloy Engineering team on new parts, repair processes, and technology implementation.Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop fixturing, tooling, and CNC programs for Milling, Grinding, and EDM of turbine components.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure flawless production and perfect part quality.
  • Apply CI and Lean tools and methodologies to continuously improve our processes. Identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
  • Assist project teams working on new designs, repairs, and process enhancements.
  • Assist in making technical decisions on product/process design.
  • Troubleshoot process/production problems and implement solutions.
  • Support Material Review Board activities in determining Root Cause and developing rework strategies for repair components.
  • Develop and update work instructions for production process definition.
  • Utilize project management skills to drive successful outcomes within technical, budgetary, and schedule requirements.
  • Engage with the Chromalloy Engineering team to develop new parts, repairs, and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Implement innovative methods that positively impact business metrics.
Education & Experience:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineer in the Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine mechanical design discipline
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3D CAD Modeling and CAM Programming (Siemens NX Preferred)
  • Experience with Multi-Axis Grinding, Milling, EDM Drilling, and/or EDM Die Sink Machining
  • Previous experience supporting the development of technical solutions for product development/production support and the ability to support improvement of product maturity
  • Experience developing/maintaining processes related to repairing aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine components (machining, brazing, plating, coating and welding)
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement, Lean tools & methodologies, and strong project management skills.
