- Develop, execute, and document test programs for additive process and material characterization, manufacturing improvement, and problem resolution.
- Provides substantial input for the development of test methods and analytical methods of substantial variety and complexity; facilitates training of team members
- Conduct and analyze tests/experiments, adapting or modifying methods as needed; prepare reports. Assignments often require completion of a sequence of related operations, tests and evaluations.
- Perform non-destructive evaluation of weld test assemblies and visual inspection of welds, as required.
- Lead or participate in projects, providing feedback to R&D and production engineering teams.
- Respond to internal/external customer requests for technical support.
- Maintain safe work practices, equipment, and compliance with procedures and specifications.
- AA/AS degree or equivalent experience with additional technical training.
- Practical experience with an arc or laser welding process.
- Strong communication skills, record-keeping accuracy, and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Capable of organizing, supervising, and executing multiple assignments.
- Self-motivated, safety- and quality-focused; able to train and lead others.
- Proficiency with standard PC software.
- Experience with automated/robotic arc welding.
- CAD modeling/drafting (SolidWorks preferred).
- Knowledge of welding codes/standards (AWS, ASME).
- Practical experience with at least one method of Non-Destructive Testing. ASNT Level II for a one NDT method (e.g. RT, PT or UT).
- Metallography/microscopy sample preparation and/or examination techniques.
- Familiarity with 3D printing, strong mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
