Nurses are given the opportunity to work at Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital in Oncology/Cancer Care. A nurse working in the Central Staffing Float Pool must possess the ability to think quickly on their feet, with remarkable adaptability and critical thinking expertise. Having the ability to transition between facilities is a must when working in this role with Central Staffing.~This is a per diem position and will float between Pen Bay and Waldo~Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse provides high quality patient and family centered care; in accordance with the scope of practice defined the Maine State Board of Nursing. Through collaboration, delegation and communication with members of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers care to a diverse population without discrimination in assigned areas. The Registered Nurse supports the mission, vision and values of MaineHealth.Coverage may require providing infusion services (both chemotherapy/immunotherapy and non-oncology); telephone triage, RX refills; Chemotherapy education, Examination/Clinic RN to manage patient needs, symptom control, arrange appointment and scheduling needs.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • License/Certifications: Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; Current BLS Certification
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of three years' oncology experience and at least one year of adult ambulatory oncology.
  • Required ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification
  • Required OCN or obtain OCN within initial 12 months of hire.
  • As required by department, including Annual Electronic Fetal Monitoring competency for any RN assisting Laboring Women.
