
Lead Process Engineer

- Enhance current manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement strategies for process control and Functional Descriptions to enhance results and minimize variability.
- Identify and address opportunities for waste reduction, yield improvement, process control enhancement, and increased throughput.
- Lead resolution of complex operational issues and effectively communicate findings and plans to other departments.
- Ensure implementation of best practices throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with the R&D team on new product development and plant trials. Work closely with Project Engineering on final process design and implementation.
- Work with the Q.A. team to assess and enhance in-process and finished product analytical instrumentation.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure critical processes and control points are properly maintained for consistent performance.
- Participate in training and mentoring of team members and engage in buddy training.
- Prioritize food safety and sanitation by adhering to client policies and procedures.
- Participate in root cause analysis and improvement activities related to food safety and sanitation.
- Maintain a safety-first approach and prioritize safety above all other job duties.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Food Science, or Dairy Science (advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in Food or Beverage Manufacturing.
- Ability to present technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and spreadsheet software.
- Proven success in delivering process improvement initiatives.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve results.
- Solid project management skills with a track record of handling multiple assignments.
- History of contributing to manufacturing process improvements.
- Ability to analyze production data using statistical methods.
- Lean & Six Sigma training or certification preferred.
- Experience in an FDA regulated environment.
- Background in Dairy Manufacturing.
