- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in product research in an applied research setting, or similar.
- Experience in programming languages used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, or Go).
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
- 3 years of experience working with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- 2 years of experience conducting UX research on products, managing projects, and working in a changing organization.
- Experience in experimental design, and advanced statistical analysis.
- Experience in statistical programming languages, such as Python or R.
- Produce insights in a fast-paced environment and deliver insights and guiding principles across job functions and product teams in Shopping.
- Analyze sentiment data across many of Google's surfaces where Shopping happens, leveraging SQL, and Python or R.
- Analyze pre-processed logs data to understand user patterns and journeys across Shopping's many surfaces.
- Combine survey methodology and experimentation with logs-derived insights, creating insights on sentiment leads and lags.
- Develop data visualization and tools to enable teammates to monitor metrics and user behaviors in a self-service way, such as dashboards, interactive notebooks, etc.
