Do you want a career with stability and growth opportunities?The Davey Resource Group (DRG) is currently hiring certified arborists, professional foresters, horticulturalists, natural resource specialists, environmental scientists, GIS technicians, and plant and outdoor enthusiasts to join our workforce.Responsibilities
  • Work with major gas / electric utility system and address its forestry needs
  • Inspect transmission utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations
  • Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation
  • Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property
  • Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction management, planners, vegetation crews and environmental consultants
  • Up to 60% weekday, overnight travel required
  • Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle
  • Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
  • Minimum of 1 year of utility vegetation management experience
  • International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist OR has ability to sit for the exam within the first 12 months of hiring
  • Embraces an outdoor and independent work environment
  • Organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Thrives on adaptation, continual learning and training and is detail oriented
  • Possess knowledge of local tree species and species specific growth rates
  • Great communicator and team player
