
Veterinary Client Care Liaison

- Collaborating with Veterinarians: Attend daily rounds to stay updated on patient needs and progress.
- Communication: Accurately receive, relay, and distribute phone, fax, and email messages, ensuring prompt responses and follow-ups.
- Client Interaction: Act as the primary liaison for clients, providing regular updates on their pet’s condition, managing expectations, and relaying delays when necessary.
- Wait Time Management: Help minimize client wait times and regularly check in with clients while they await updates or diagnostic results.
- Estimate & Financial Coordination: Assist veterinarians with creating and presenting estimates, updating clients on costs, and reviewing final invoices before discharge.
- Patient Information: Support the veterinarians with charting and medical records, ensuring accurate documentation for each patient’s treatment plan and discharge.
- Prescription Support: Assist with prescription fulfillment and coordinate patient releases in collaboration with the technician team.
- Follow-Up Care: Answer client calls, provide aftercare instructions, and explain follow-up care and medications.
- Team Support: Work closely with the Client Service Specialists to ensure a seamless experience for clients.
- Confident and professional demeanor, even under stress.
- Ability to relay medical information and instructions to clients, including medication and home care.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to effectively handle pets and assist in restraint when necessary.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and prioritizing in a dynamic environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or a skilled veterinary assistant.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Strong client service skills and a passion for helping others.
- Proficient with computers and basic keyboarding.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication handling preferred.
- Ability to manage lab samples, prescriptions, and aftercare instructions.
- Previous experience with answering phones and in-person client interactions.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
