Job Title: Software Test Engineer, HIL Powertrain ControlsJob DescriptionJoin our dynamic team as a Software Test Engineer, specializing in HIL Powertrain Controls. You will collaborate with system engineers and software developers to create, implement, and verify test cases for powertrain or chassis domain controllers. Your role will involve ensuring the seamless integration of hardware and software through rigorous testing and automation.Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with system engineers and software developers to identify and implement test cases and verification criteria for powertrain or chassis domain controllers.
  • Configure test setups and runs according to the test plan in collaboration with the test manager.
  • Develop test automation, automate test tools, and improve automation scripts.
  • Execute tests at the hardware-software integration level (HIL) and document test results.
  • Document and track issues, participate in issue triaging to identify root causes and resolutions.
  • Work with integration engineers to design and build test benches for testing high and low voltage systems.
  • Identify gaps in requirements and work with engineers to update requirement documents.
  • Collaborate with functional safety engineers to develop test cases and validation criteria as per ISO standards.
  • Ensure diagnostic coverage and requirements are met.
  • Troubleshoot systems/ECUs using lab and measurement equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and multimeters, as well as tools like Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, and NI Tools.
  • Participate in the design of engineering efforts to enhance electric vehicle refinement.
  • Develop automated test cases using pytest or similar automation frameworks.
  • Automate various vehicle dynamics and powertrain features based on requirements.
  • Participate in bug triage meetings, report bugs, and analyze logs for troubleshooting.
Essential Skills
  • 6+ years of full-time testing experience on embedded systems or automotive ECUs.
  • 4+ years of experience with Python, pytest, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience in writing test fixtures, setup & teardown modules, and developing parameterized test cases.
  • 6+ years of experience in developing Simulink Models using Simulink/Stateflow and M script.
  • 2+ years of experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • 3+ years of experience with ‘Real Time’ simulation systems and/or FPGA-based systems (NI, dSPACE, Vector etc.).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge of software testing concepts and test processes.
  • Experience with Embedded Systems framework and associated tools/interface methods.
  • Hands-on experience using test equipment and validation tools like Vector CANoe/CANalyzer.
  • Skills to design, build, and debug test benches.
  • Experience automating UDS test cases and knowledge of Automotive Ethernet.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Computer Science, or related field (Master of Science preferred).
