
Labor Relations Specialist - Human Resources

- Support labor and employee-related activities, including understanding collective bargaining agreements, arbitration cases, and policies, while providing guidance to HR teams and managers.
- Assist in negotiating contracts, such as collective bargaining agreements, effects bargaining agreements, and settlement agreements, while contributing to strike preparedness efforts and union-free initiatives.
- Resolve disputes and grievances by working with union leadership and business agents, evaluating arbitration cases, and preparing necessary documentation.
- Provide training to managers and supervisors on contract interpretation, grievance handling, union avoidance, and positive employee relations, while supporting labor updates and quarterly calls.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve employee relations, address workplace issues, and ensure compliance with labor laws, while identifying systemic issues and developing solutions.
- Assist in building labor knowledge within HR teams, including training HR Associates and interns, and sharing updates with HR Business Partners and front-line leaders.
- Maintain labor relations records, including arbitration awards, Memorandums of Understanding, and collective bargaining notes, while supporting communication efforts for policy updates and implementation.
- Skilled at building strong relationships and earning trust and respect
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experienced with HRIS systems.
- Analytical abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and meeting the needs of clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with managers to achieve goals.
- Experienced in interpreting and administering contract language.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing independent responsibilities under general supervision.
- Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including drafting documents and correspondence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Labor/Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or related degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor Relations or Human Resources
- Ability to travel based on business needs.
- You’ll be off every other Friday with our 9/80 work schedule
