
IP & Technology Litigation Associate Attorney - DC or New York

- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
- Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing.
- 4–6 years of substantive experience handling complex IP litigation matters, including patent and ITC litigation.
- Preferred Background: Science or engineering.
- Patent Bar admission strongly preferred.
- Experience with federal court litigation involving patents, trade secrets, false advertising, and unfair competition.
- Familiarity with proceedings before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
- Strong proficiency in drafting and responding to pleadings, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.
- Experience managing written and document discovery, and taking and defending depositions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with expert witnesses and assist in preparing expert reports.
- Trial preparation and experience assisting in motion arguments, jury and bench trials, appellate arguments, and administrative hearings.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional research, writing, analytical, communication, and oral advocacy skills are a must. Ability to thrive both as a team contributor and when working autonomously.
- Handle complex patent and trade secret litigation in federal courts and before the USITC.
- Draft and respond to motions, briefs, and correspondence with opposing counsel.
- Manage discovery processes and deposition preparation.
- Work closely with experts and assist in report development.
- Prepare for and support trial proceedings, including arguments and hearings before the PTAB, ITC, and other administrative bodies.
- Support dispute resolution efforts, including mediation and settlement strategy.
- Conduct high-level legal research and draft comprehensive memoranda.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across litigation, licensing, venture technology, corporate, tax, advertising, and antitrust practices to provide holistic client advice.
