
Outdoor Adventure Facilitator - YMCA of the Ozarks

- Must be at least 18 years old
- CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 30 days of employment
- Experience in a camp or outdoor education setting, or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
- Class E Driver's License and ability to drive watercraft preferred
- Additional relevant certifications (ACCT level 1, USA Archery Level I instructor, Lifeguard, etc.) preferred
- Lead and facilitate a wide range of outdoor activities, which may include archery, axe-throwing, air rifles, canoeing/kayaking, climbing wall, zip line, nature exploration, recreation programs, family programming, and group initiatives.
- Lead and facilitate outdoor educational programs with school groups, including geology, water ecology, orienteering, caving, outdoor cooking, fire-building, and more.
- Lead and facilitate evening programs, including programmed campfires, night walks, and astronomy sessions.
- Assists with the planning and facilitation of weekend, special events, family camps, themed and holiday programs, such as Fall Fest, Thanksgiving, and New Year's celebrations.
- Effectively manage group dynamics, encourage participation, and create an inclusive and supportive environment.
- Deliver clear instructions, demonstrations, and safety briefings for all activities.
- Adapt programs as needed based on weather conditions, participant response, and unforeseen circumstances.
- Provide feedback and debriefing sessions to groups, helping them process their experiences and apply learned skills.
- Maintains positive working relationships with support services departments, including group sales, Triangle Y Ranch, maintenance, food service, and housekeeping.
- Prioritize the safety of all participants and staff through rigorous adherence to YMCA safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Reports damaged or lost program equipment in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Participates in continuing training programs when offered and consistently works to add new and exciting programming.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
