Overview:An exciting opportunity to lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio (BGCCO). We are looking for an individual who can provide visionary, strategic and operational leadership, who is deeply committed to the mission, and will continue to expand and strengthen the impact of the Boys & Girls Club in Central Ohio. This role blends strategic leadership, external engagement, fundraising, and organizational capacity-building. Reports to the Board of Directors.The mission of BGCCO is to enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential. Our vision is for all young people regardless of their zip code or circumstances to have the opportunity to achieve a great future. BGCCO provides high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. Establish and advance the overall vision and direction of the organization
Facilitate the development and implementation of long-term strategies and annual operational plans
Chief evangelist and fundraiser – engage with current and potential community stakeholders so that BGCCO’s mission is well understand and to continue to expand our advocacy; develop and implement long and short-term fundraising plans
Develop strategies to increase organizational recognition and positive perception among target audiences
Recruit, develop and lead a team to uphold the mission statement, core values and strategy; attract, develop, engage and retain the talent necessary for Clubs to achieve their mission
Operational Leadership
Demonstrate that safety is a core value, ensuring that the management system conforms with membership requirements and industry standards and is actively engaged in the safety improvement process
Establish annual operational plans and goals for the entire organization
Oversee implementation of programs and services; manage and monitor programs, with BGCA and local KPI’s, to ensure achievement of its mission and goals
Ensure that the organization complies with membership and other requirements or standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, other affiliated and regulatory agencies
Financial Leadership
Overall fiscal responsibility, including managing financial sustainability and growth and asset management
Oversee long-term financial planning, annual budget process, revenue/expense budgets, audits, accurate financial reporting, analysis, and data integrity
Assures management and attainment of resources necessary to ensure the financial operations of the agency are conducted in accordance with applicable laws.
Develops and implements risk management and risk mitigation plans
Board Management
Assure development of an effective board, including identification, recruitment, training, and involvement of members in meeting the goals of the organization
Deepen engagement with a committed and diverse board
Collaborate on the recruitment of directors who can expand fundraising and community partnerships Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree preferred
Outstanding leadership and communication skills
10+ years of relevant leadership experience which includes strategic planning, operational management, people management and fundraising
Track record of developing and implementing successful strategic and operational plans
Passionate about our mission: experience which aligns with the requirement of this role to represent a mission-centric organization in the community
Proven skill in raising organizational visibility and fostering a strong, positive reputation.
Strong fundraising and community engagement experience
Experience managing federal and state government grants, corporate donations and individual donors
Can effectively build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Outstanding people leadership skills – track record of robust talent acquisition, talent development and driving employee engagement.
Significant experience working with a volunteer board of directors
