Schedule: Traditional Office Hours1. Overview / Why This Role Matters💡 Lead with purpose - Our client is looking for a Chief Financial Officer and help drive financial excellence in support of community impact!2. Key Responsibilities / What You'll Do
- Direct the financial affairs of the agency, within the parameters outlined by the President and Board of Directors
- Direct and coordinate activities and staff of the accounting department
- Establish, implement and maintain financial objectives, policies, budgets, and projections
- Prepare and present accurate and timely reports to the President, senior staff, board, grantors, and governmental entities
- Monthly analysis of cash flow, operational budget, investments, and all other financial aspects of the organization
- Advise management and board on needed operational adjustments due to changes in tax laws
- Maintain capital outlay and fixed asset depreciation schedules, and recommend investment of capital
- Develop the operational budget, monitor implementation, and recommend changes
- Prepare documentation required for the annual audit
- Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures related to internal controls and financial management
- Staff the Finance Committee and work with the Treasurer of the Board
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
- Minimum four years of experience in accounting or related field
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills, analytical and problem solving abilities, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and short-term deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with nonprofits and federal/state grants
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Andar Software
