
Early Childhood Aide

- Coordinate with the teachers to maintain consistent classroom routines and student support.
- Consult with the ECLA Director and/or teacher regarding classroom schedules, needs, and responsibilities.
- Provide supervision of students during classroom activities, outdoor play, and meals.
- Facilitate supportive one-on-one or small group interactions that encourage skill development.
- Oversee student safety and engagement during free play, learning centers, and transitions.
- Document in daily logs as needed for licensing or communication with parents.
- Manage student behavior in a developmentally appropriate, faith-based manner under the direction of the teacher.
- Support the supervision and monitoring of student behavior in classrooms, hallways, playground, and other school environments to promote a safe, respectful, and orderly atmosphere for all children.
- Assist with classroom routines including snack, clean-up, and toileting assistance.
- Communicate positively and professionally with students, families, and staff.
- Provide relevant information to the teacher and/or director regarding student needs or concerns.
- Ensure all actions reflect the mission of Catholic education and the dignity of each child.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and professional boundaries.
- Update classroom charts, student items, and teacher-assigned duties on a regular basis.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance, reporting to work on time and adhering to assigned schedules to ensure the safety, supervision, and continuity of care for all students.
- Demonstrate and maintain a professional appearance that reflects the dignity and mission of Catholic education, setting a visible standard of excellence and respect for faculty, students, and the wider school community.
- Love and understanding of young children and their developmental needs.
- Support for and willingness to model Catholic values and a Christian worldview.
- Ability to follow directions, be flexible, and work as a member of a team.
- Effective communication skills with children and adults.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to the needs of young children.
- Respect for confidentiality and a commitment to professional conduct.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally and spiritually.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred, but not required. .
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate's degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a classroom, daycare, or ministry setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the needs of the classroom.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
