
Lead Maintenance Engineer

- Promote the principles and practices of efficient end-use energy technologies to lighting, utility, process, and power systems.
- Lead the Continuous Improvement program for the Cleveland MEU Division.
- Central responsibility for plant-wide utilities, systems, and contracts, plant energy conservation efforts, plant energy and utility usage management, plant & departmental utility measurement.
- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of HV equipment (substations, transmission lines/cables, switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, etc.).
- Perform system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination). One of two- ETAP or EasyPower software experience.
- Coordinate Relays & SCADA.
- Lead the power system improvement projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3 years of leadership experience in heavy manufacturing, industrial environment, or military.
- Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and exposure to databases.
- Prior experience prioritizing and multitasking multiple projects, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, and strong problem-solving/negotiating skills.
- Understanding and experience in medium voltage plant electrical distribution.
- Availability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, in a multi-level organization that operates 24/7.
- Medium voltage plant’s electrical distribution understanding and experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or Power Systems.
- 7+ years of experience in high voltage engineering and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of protection systems, SCADA, and relay coordination.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar.
- OSHA, NEC or NFPA 70E/ 70B trainings.
