Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Land Manager for their Operations Department. The right candidate will find, place under contract, receive governmental approval and close on new land that meets the division's needs. Develop raw land and install infrastructure to enable construction of homes.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlans, directs and coordinate all land acquisitions and land development activitiesDevelop business community relationships and scout other avenues for possible acquisitionsPrepare land valuation analysis and corporate budgetsDevelop policies for usage, sale of properties and the construction scheduleNegotiates the acquisition of properties with landowners, attorneys or brokersPrepare memoranda and other documentation and analytics for corporate approval for land buysManage due diligence process on land acquisition opportunities, including initial master planning work in close coordination with internal design and land development teamsManage, coordinate resources for and meet all entitlement needs for land acquisitionsMonitor development phases and entitlement processes post-closingDevelop construction scheduleReview and sign documents, plats and contractsResponsible for developing departmental overhead budget and controlling the budgetWork with area municipalities and utility contractorsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirectly supervises two or more employees in the Land Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree (B.
