- Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Tableau Desktop
- Create compelling data stories that translate complex datasets into actionable business insights
- Build self-service analytics solutions for various business units
- Optimize dashboard performance and ensure scalability across different user groups
- Experience with the Human Centered Design approach, Design Thinking or emphasis on User Interaction (UI) in BI design.
- Connect BI tools to various data sources including databases, cloud platforms, and APIs
- Perform data modeling, and create calculated fields, measures and parameters using Power Query and DAX
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity across all BI solutions
- Maintain and troubleshoot Power BI datasets, reports, and service environments.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and analytical needs
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure proper data pipeline integration to deliver comprehensive solutions
- Provide training and support to end users on Business Intelligence functionality and best practices
- Document technical specifications, data lineage, and dashboard functionality
- Assist with writing technical solutions and assemble design artifacts (functional design documents, report wireframes, data flow diagrams, data models, etc.).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI and Tableau Desktop, Server, and/or Cloud
- Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and SQL
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
- Experience with data modeling concepts, dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis methodologies
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources
- Stay up to date with Power BI and Tableau updates and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Foundations or Certified Tableau Data Analyst certification
- Knowledge of Python, R, or other statistical programming languages
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline development
- Knowledge of design tools such as Canva or Figma
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; or work experience of equal value to formal education. Post-graduate degrees and/or certifications are beneficial
- Experience in specific industry verticals (pharmacy, healthcare, retail, etc.)
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks
- Experience with agile development methodologies
