In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau. This role requires a combination of technical skills, awareness of data modeling and querying, and an understanding of business needs to effectively create and deliver reports that are accessible, user friendly, and visually appealing. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, transform raw data into meaningful insights, to implement solutions that unlock the power of intelligence-driven decision making to support business goals and outcomes across various organizations and industries.At Moser Consulting, we are continually seeking great people who align with our commitment to culture, who are concentrated on technology, and focused on results.   • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Tableau Desktop
  • Create compelling data stories that translate complex datasets into actionable business insights
  • Build self-service analytics solutions for various business units
  • Optimize dashboard performance and ensure scalability across different user groups
  • Experience with the Human Centered Design approach, Design Thinking or emphasis on User Interaction (UI) in BI design.
Data Management & Integration
  • Connect BI tools to various data sources including databases, cloud platforms, and APIs
  • Perform data modeling, and create calculated fields, measures and parameters using Power Query and DAX
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity across all BI solutions
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Power BI datasets, reports, and service environments.
Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and analytical needs
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure proper data pipeline integration to deliver comprehensive solutions
  • Provide training and support to end users on Business Intelligence functionality and best practices
  • Document technical specifications, data lineage, and dashboard functionality
  • Assist with writing technical solutions and assemble design artifacts (functional design documents, report wireframes, data flow diagrams, data models, etc.).
RequirementsTechnical Skills
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI and Tableau Desktop, Server, and/or Cloud
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and SQL
  • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
  • Experience with data modeling concepts, dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Analytical & Business Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis methodologies
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets from multiple sources
  • Stay up to date with Power BI and Tableau updates and best practices.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline development
  • Knowledge of design tools such as Canva or Figma
Domain Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; or work experience of equal value to formal education. Post-graduate degrees and/or certifications are beneficial
  • Experience in specific industry verticals (pharmacy, healthcare, retail, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
Where You'll WorkMoser has two offices in Indianapolis, IN, and one in Baltimore, MD. This position will require a hybrid/onsite work schedule out of our downtown or Castleton office.SalaryAt Moser Consulting, we believe in pay transparency and fairness.
