We're looking for two (2) motivated Fiscal Analyst 2's to play a key role in supporting our agency's mission. In this vital position, you'll go beyond routine processing-conducting financial reviews and analysis of fiscal data in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the State Administrative & Accounting Manual (SAAM). Some of what you will get to do:
- Process payment utilizing proper accounting procedures and methods.
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial records.
- Send Travel statements to responsible staff for reconciliation.
- Process email requests for travel and payables.
- Process travel reimbursement requests.
- Process in the Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS), payments to contractors, state agencies, and vendors.
- Process assigned credit card payments.
- Assign appropriate coding to ensure expenditures are accurately expensed to the correct funding source.
- Review, analyze, verify, and correct accounting data within AFRS.
- Review financial data and prepare monthly accruals.
- Communicate with customers in person, over the phone or in writing.
- Explain to staff and customers the accounting requirements and procedures.
- Evaluate and resolve complaints.
- Equivalent education/experience totaling four (4) years.
- Bachelor's degree, which includes at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting and one to two years of relevant professional experience. Professional experience may substitute for education but not usually for the credit hours.
- A Master's degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
- Washington State statewide financial systems, such as Agency Financial Reporting System (AFRS), Travel Expense and Management System (TEMS), Enterprise Reporting.
