That’s where you come in!We are looking to hire the next voice of Magic: The Gathering to help lead and guide our public messaging during the most exciting time in the game’s history. Magic is reaching more people than ever before, and we’re looking for an energetic communications professional to help craft the way we talk to existing fans and fans we haven’t been introduced to.You’ll work with our public relations, social media, web, marketing, influencer and a variety of other teams to engage and inform the world about Magic. You'll craft communications plans, voice, and tactics for one of the finest games in the world. And you’ll get in the occasional game of Magic (or 4!) with coworkers.Sense of humor, unique voice, and a penchant for actually enjoying your work are all welcome.What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a voice of the business to our fans—and as a voice of our fans to the business.
  • Work across multi-functional teams to delivering sophisticated communications plans and messaging, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategies.
  • Collaborate with partners to define and prioritize announcements, communications, and messaging.
  • Develop and maintain multiple communications plans, timelines, and messaging.
  • Raise urgent issues appropriately, engaging partner teams as needed, and driving them to closure in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement of communications processes.
  • Advise collaborators and leadership on communications solutions and alert to potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with communications standards throughout project lifecycles.
  • Collaborate and quickly resolve crisis communications moments.
  • Analyze communications trends in the industry and adapt to best share information about Magic broadly.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Magic: The Gathering, gaming audiences, public relations, and emerging communications fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in communications management, with a proven record of optimally delivering communications projects.
  • Broad knowledge of different voices for different audiences, and how to represent the brand based on the communications channels.
  • Experience working with global teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with an ability to concisely convey project status and risk at all levels of the company.
  • A strong opinion (one way or the other) on the Oxford comma.
  • Ability to challenge and thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years public relations and/or media experience, and the digital rolodex to match
  • Experience working in the entertainment or gaming industry.
  • Knowledge of new technologies and trends spanning IT, social media, marketing, and communications.
  • Obscure but wildly interesting knowledge about an esoteric topic to share with the team.

The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions.
