- Maintain and perform minor repairs including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems/units.
- Remodel and maintain properties as required including sheet rocking, painting, and masonry.
- Work with program staff to help relocate clients from one unit to another including the physical movement of client belongings, and logistical coordination.
- Provide on-site supervision of maintenance staff to ensure that work orders are completed correctly and on-time.
- Provide daily updates to Operation Manager on the completion of assigned work orders and update the work order system as appropriate.
- Perform regular inspections using HUD HQS form.
- Coordinate and work with contracted services for the maintenance and upkeep of apartments.
- Provide and maintain a safe environment, reporting unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the units to the Operations Coordinator.
- Exercise independent judgment and decision-making around general operations of apartments.
- Maintain guidelines established by the funding sources and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree, business or trade school degree and 3 years of relevant experience,
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in property maintenance and repair preferred.
- Candidates with lived experience are preferred and encouraged to apply.
- Valid N.Y.S. Driver’s License,
- Registered & Insured Vehicle
- State Central Registry Clearance.
- Basic computer skills,
- knowledge of building maintenance and repairs,
- creative problem solving skills,
- good interpersonal/social communication skills;
- ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings and work at client’s homes and/or community facilities which may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
