
Senior Manufacturing Engineer

- Process Improvement: Develop, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.
- Equipment and Tooling: Design, specify, and implement equipment, tools and fixtures to support production and ensure reliable operations.
- Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting production, quality and safety, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Project Management: Lead and manage manufacturing projects, including capital projects, new plant projects, process validation, and equipment upgrades.
- Contractor and Vendor Management: Collaborate with contractors and vendors to procure equipment, services, and materials, ensuring compliance with VOSHA regulations, Vermont EPA and Company policies and procedures including, but not limited to Procurement and Contractor Compliance processes, policies and agreements.
- Lean Manufacturing: Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, such as 5S, one-piece flow, and value stream mapping, to enhance productivity.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control plans. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and ISO quality and environmental standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering support teams (Technology & Innovation, Process Engineers), quality and production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
- Training: Provide technical support and training to production team on new processes, equipment and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in a 24-7 environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Auto CAD and other engineering tools and precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods such as machining, welding and automation.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies.
- Vendor and Contractor Management – proven experience working with external suppliers, contractors and vendors to manage projects and secure resources.
- Problem solving - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and document processes effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
