- Monitor compliance with Burndy's Quality Policy and promote a culture with this approach while instilling a mentality of driving to root cause and implementing corrective / preventative actions.
- In concert with other Burndy Quality Managers/Engineers, develop quality policies, standards, and programs to drive continuous improvement of the quality of products and services to promote customer satisfaction.
- Lead/Execute/Support Quality driven projects as directed.
- Work with leadership to ensure compliance with the company's quality requirements, in addition to complying with customer and regulatory requirements for quality, safety and reliability.
- Ensure proper quality control execution on product moves and new product implementation between the four Burndy sites.
- Partner with Sourcing/Procurement teams to drive supplier quality improvement, including effective quality-driven supplier evaluation, feedback, RCA of issues, and follow-up.
- Provide ongoing analytical and problem-solving support to plant management and customers on critical quality problems as directed.
- Provide education and training to quality personnel and business leaders on quality principles, directives and Burndy specific Quality related policies.
- Bachelor of Science with a focus of engineering, technology, or industrial science required.
- Minimum of 5 years previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with relevant and progressive experience in Quality process employment, supervision, or support preferred.
- Knowledge/experience with ISO9001 certification process, SAP knowledge, and experience with UL/CSA and other regulatory agencies preferred.
- DMAIC/Six Sigma knowledge a plus, proficient in problem resolution.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, customers and suppliers.
- Ability to acquire a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment, software and controls.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Attentive to details and accuracy. Collaboration skills, ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills across different levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel (up to 10%).
