The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers.This position is a customer on-premises located in Washington D.C.Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the architectural network design of backhaul solutions for ASTRO 25, WAVE VOIP and adjacent technologies for Federal, State and local government agencies requiring highly secure, easily managed, mission critical IP networks.Primary Responsibilities:Consult with Pre-Sale and Post-Sale Design team to set strategy, direction and implementationLead and define technical network architecture designs for ASTRO 25 backhaul networksLead and define technical network architecture designs for adjacent technologies backhaul networksCreate and document detailed network drawingsContinually evaluate third party vendor equipment used in our portfolioWork with third party vendors/contractors to ensure delivery of requirements set forth by the designLead the engineering community in best practices for network designsNetwork topology assessments and troubleshootingCandidate Requirements:Good understanding of effective network design methodologiesExperience with troubleshooting and assessing live networksMinimum preferred certifications: Juniper Network Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA), Nokia Routing Specialist I (NRS I) or equivalentExperience with routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, ISIS and others as neededExperience with MPLS design and deploymentsExperience with LAN switching protocols: G8032 ring protectionExperience with Manufacture Hardware: Juniper, Nokia, HP, FortinetKnowledge of different media types: Metro Ethernet, Frame-Relay, Ethernet, SONETKnowledge of physical layer such as: Fiber, Copper, Microwave.Experience in scripting/programming is a plus.Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture a plusExperience with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Applications requiredExperience with use of command line and/or GUI interfaces to provision equipmentExperience with Network Management Applications a plus: Solarwinds, JUNO-Space, Nokia SAM/NFM-P, ProvisionSelf motivated, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skillsWorks collaboratively and builds relationships with other colleagues, customers, and third party service professionals.Additional Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contractsMust be willing to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance * iv>The role entails providing on-premises support to our valued customers in Washington D.C.This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.#LI-CC1Basic RequirementsBachelor's (BS) Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, OR 5+ years experience in one of the following: IP Networking, Network Engineering, Solution Architecture, ASTRO 25, WAVE VOIP, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, or ITMust be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)Travel Requirements Under 10%Relocation Provided NonePosition Type ExperiencedReferral Payment Plan YesOur U.S. Benefits include:
