Duration: 8 Months + in 2024 (renewable annually Jan-Dec)
Location: DC (AARP HQ)As a Senior Network Engineer you will:Seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join our team and solve networking issues, build and enhance tools, develop best practices, refine operational procedures, and constantly think proactively and inventively.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage and support LAN and WAN Network devices
- Implement approved Network changes in accordance standard procedures
- Analyze and diagnose network problems, system defects, and other issues
- Recommend corrective solutions to be applied to network hardware or software
- Configuration and Deployment of new equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and upgrades
- Assist other groups in troubleshooting problems that require packet analysis or performance review.
- Provide accurate Network documentation, diagrams, and reports.
- Be the first point of escalation and ability to figure out root cause of issues as well as quick workarounds to keep the business operations ongoing.
- 3 days onsite at DC Office (Tue, Wed and Thu) and 2 days remote.
- Previous working experience as a Network Administrator for 8 year(s)
- In depth knowledge of WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, Fiber (GPON), TCP/IP, Firewall, SDWAN, Routers, Switches
- In depth expert with Fortinet technologies
- Familiar with Cisco, Arista, and Meraki network technologies.
- Experience with networking architectures for Data Centers and integration with clouds like AWS
- Knowledge of Infosec best practices and standards related to networking.
- Must have Hands on experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
- Familiar with Agile Methodologies
- Pleasant personality and ability to clearly communicate and articulate with stakeholders and end-users.
