The Business Analyst supports data-driven decision-making by partnering with business stakeholders to understand source data, gather reporting requirements, evaluate existing dashboards, and define enhancements that improve data usability and visualization. This role focuses on understanding business needs and translating them into technical requirements for data teams. Additionally, the Business Analyst is responsible for playing a key role in the requirements, design, and testing of Data Pipelines and Business Intelligence Outcomes for SECURA Insurance. This includes collaborating on process mapping, researching data sources, specifying reporting requirements, and documenting technical specifications. The role also involves supporting the testing of reports and dashboards throughout the BI development lifecycle to ensure accuracy, performance, and alignment with business objectives.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting and dashboard requirements
  • Analyze source data and existing reports to identify opportunities for improvement in data usability and visualization
  • Evaluate current dashboards and reports, recommending enhancements and optimizations
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements for data and development teams
  • Perform basic data analysis using tools like Excel, SQL, or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI)
  • Partner with the technical team to ensure proper understanding and build solutions
  • Facilitate effective meetings with peers, Business users, and Stakeholders
  • Partner with business users and stakeholders to prioritize issues
  • Perform root cause analysis
  • Identify projects risks and issues; communicate and escalate accordingly
  • Understanding of business processes and data lifecycle
  • When required, prepare test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for End-to End testing
  • When required, execute functional and end-to-end tests, using predefined test cases
  • Participates as required in User Acceptance testing
  • Triage and troubleshooting of Production support issues
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent combination of education/experience Associate or bachelor’s degree in an IT related field, with business analysis experience in related field
  • Knowledge of the SDLC, business processes and technical aspects of data pipelines and business intelligence outcomes
  • Proficient in SQL for data mapping, extracting, and validating source data to enable accurate reporting and dashboards
  • Experience with large system design and implementation
  • Highly motivated, organized, and self-starter
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates thought Leadership
  • Able to prioritize and work through multiple tasks
PREFERRED:
  • P&C Insurance industry experience
  • Agile methodology
  • Experience with Duck creek Software Solutions and Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
