Job Title: Certified Surgical TechnicianLocation: NYC, NY 10003Job Summary: The Certified Surgical Technician provides surgical assistance to residents and attending clinicians in the oral surgery clinic and dental ambulatory OR/procedure room. This role ensures surgical areas are properly prepared, patients are supported, and procedures run efficiently with full compliance to safety and clinical standards.Duties and Responsibilities (in order of importance and/or frequency):Escort patients to the surgical chair, screen patients awaiting surgery, and review medical records to confirm required treatment and ensure documentation is complete (including notes, PHM, lab results, etc.).Provide continuous “four-handed” assistance to clinicians during procedures.Clean and disinfect countertops, mayo stands, and equipment prior to setup.Organize and prepare sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment for each procedure.Take radiographs as requested, before, during, or after procedures.Restock cabinets and drawers, and order/stock medical and surgical supplies.Provide chair-side assistance including monitoring patient vitals, suctioning, passing instruments, and assisting with medications.Remove all instruments and equipment post-procedure and dispose of medical waste appropriately.Respond effectively in case of emergency situations.Skills and Qualifications:Dental Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Minimum of 3 years of experience required; 5 years preferred.Strong written and oral communication skills.Education:Associate’s Degree required.Work Schedule:Hours per Week: 37.5Hours per Day: 7.5Days per Week: 5For more details contact at pmohanty@navitashealth.com/516-806-4227.
