We are helping to build a circular economy and an inclusive value chain.The R&D Packaging Engineer role will manage new packaging development across all three pillars (Innovation, Productivity, and Sustainability) to deliver against PepsiCo/Starbucks Joint Venture strategy. Responsibilities:
  • Develop understanding of strategic packaging components to support development of new packaging programs and contribute to troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Lead development and maintenance of packaging specifications for all PepsiCo/Starbucks Joint Venture formats
  • Cross-functional project leadership
  • Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with internal and external partners
  • Provided technical support for field issue resolution
  • Provide technical support for package performance and cost improvements through proper lab and in-plant testing
  • Create development and initial commercialization timelines
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $84,000 - $140,650.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics or Materials Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years’ experience in related consumer goods field or MS or PhD (as previous) with 3+ years’ experience in related consumer goods field
  • Experience working with Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies a plus
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Experience with retort and aseptic packaging (hot fill and/or cold fill experience is a plus)
  • Experience with various types of plastics forming with solid industry networks
  • Strong track record of championing innovation within organizations
  • Position will require flexibility in working hours set up and complete scale-ups, plant trials, or plant startups that may extend past typical working hours
  • Travel in North America required to meet project and business objectives, 20% - 30%
