Sick and Vacation Paid Time Off, Holiday Paid Time Off, Employee Referral Bonus ProgramThe City of Lake Alfred is seeking a dedicated Parks Service Worker II to join our Parks & Recreation team. This position is responsible for the daily upkeep, repair, and maintenance of City parks, athletic fields, courts, and other recreational facilities. Work includes heavy manual labor, operation of equipment, and support for community events to ensure safe and enjoyable spaces for residents and visitors.Key Responsibilities:Perform maintenance and repairs on city parks, ballfields, basketball/tennis courts, playgrounds, and other recreational facilities.Operate vehicles and equipment such as mowers, tractors, chain saws, clippers, and backhoes.Conduct grounds care tasks including mowing, edging, mulching, weeding, spraying, pruning, and tree care.Maintain or repair tools, equipment, and facilities (painting, plumbing, electrical, minor construction).Provide upkeep of sidewalks, parking lots, fountains, benches, and other park features.Assist with City-sponsored special events, including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent.Two (2) years’ experience in parks, groundskeeping, or related public service preferred.Valid Driver’s License required; Class B CDL preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to safely operate and maintain lawn care equipment and heavy machinery.Knowledge of grounds maintenance practices, tools, and supplies.Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and other manual tasks outdoors in varied conditions.Additional Information:This position requires in-office attendance and may be designated as mission-critical.Work is primarily outdoors with exposure to weather, equipment, and chemicals; use of safety gear is required.The City of Lake Alfred is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace.👉 Apply online today and help us keep Lake Alfred’s parks beautiful, safe, and welcoming!Powered by JazzHR
