
Warehouse/Forklift Operator Team Lead - Contract - Detroit, MI

- Work alongside the warehouse team and forklift operators to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee the safe and effective handling and movement of materials within the warehouse.
- Assist in the training and development of team members in forklift operation and warehouse procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices within the warehouse environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to maintain compliance and efficiency.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain personnel to manage stock effectively.
- Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Assist leadership with reports and documentation as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for problem-solving and resolution for operational challenge when Supervisor/Manager is not present.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a seamless flow of materials and information.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in a leadership role.
- Certification in forklift operation is required.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficient in using warehouse management software and technology solutions.
- Experience working in logistics and project management.
- Previous experience in managing teams or leading projects in a warehouse setting.
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and drive efficiency.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and transportation management software.
