- Develop conceptual designs, execution plans, cost estimates, and project schedules for project proposals.
- Work with customers developing project and site-specific design scope documents, specifications, and contract documents.
- Lead in the execution of engineering activities such as:
- Physical systems design, including substations, delivery systems (lines and cable systems), utilization systems, and renewable energy production systems.
- Protection and control design, including relay settings.
- SCADA system development, specification, execution, and commissioning.
- Equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.
- Model development and studies, including data collection and analysis.
- Contract development, equipment specification and evaluation, bidding, and review processes.
- Project management activities include budget development, scheduling, and project tracking/reporting.
- Lead coordination of design activities with other internal/external disciplines.
- Lead process, tools and/or technology implementations.
- Develop and provide training.
- Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel.
- Perform quality reviews for other projects.
- Provide input into employee performance reviews.
- Provide field support during construction.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives.
- Participate in industry events or professional technical committees.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 5/10/15 years related experience with progressive responsibilities.
- Professional Engineer registration required.
- Proficiency with the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and IEEE / ANSI Standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot in the field is desired.
- Capability of solving complex problems requires adapting and modifying standard approaches, techniques, and procedures.
- Up to 30% travel is anticipated, depending on qualifications.
