The Repair Technician must possess strong knowledge of rental and repair operations. This position requires developing a good working relationship with all product representatives and ensuring all indemnifying certifications are completed per manufacturers’ specifications. The role involves maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures. The technician may work at the Village Equipment Rental Shop in the upper village or the Base Lodge Rental Shop on the 2nd story of the Base Lodge.Job Relationships:
- Reports to: Manager/Supervisor
- Employees Supervised: None
- High school graduate or GED equivalent, with continuing education preferred
- Experience in rental/repair operations required
- Previous experience with ski and snowboard repair techniques (mounting, base repairs, tuning) required
- Experience working directly with the public required
- Knowledge of ski/snowboard industry required
- Binding certification training preferred
- Self-starter, able to work independently with little supervision
- Able to function effectively with both guests and staff
- Provide quality repair service for guests, employees, and rental fleet (both ski & snowboard)
- Knowledge of all safety measures in back-of-shop operations
- Attention to detail is essential
- Research new products and their functionalities
- Assist in rental operations as a utility tech when business levels dictate
- Maintain appropriate records for shop forms and equipment
- Maintain repair equipment in top condition and ensure repair supplies are ordered within budget/business guidelines (working closely with the Manager)
- Assist with both pre-season and in-season binding tests as requested
- Advocate for excellent guest service:
- Ensure guests are taken care of in a friendly, efficient manner
- Handle difficult guests and resolve problems
- Communicate options to guests regarding the care of their equipment
- Work within the framework of Rental & WSI policies and procedures
- Assist in other activities within the WSI organization to develop teamwork with other departments and associates
All team members must ensure a safe and risk-free environment for internal and external guests. This involves constant alertness for any unsafe conditions and work behaviors, periodic inspections of work and public areas, and follow-up notifications to correct conditions or practices at the earliest opportunity.Work Environment:
- Moderate physical activity required, handling objects up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to be on one’s feet for extended periods, up to 6 hours
- Includes light to moderate physical activity, including bending, stooping, lifting, etc., on a routine basis
- Working holidays, nights, and weekends is an accepted part of the job
