Our core competencies include IT professional support services, software development, cloud services, IT Operations, Agile project management, and GIS services.Job Summary:NexGen is currently seeking a Power Platform Developer to work across the Microsoft Power Apps Platform as a service suite to build custom business apps that meet the needs of our Federal Government clients. This role will emphasize developing model-driven apps, building robust integrations through Power Platform connectors and custom connectors, leveraging the Dataverse API and Azure services to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, business analysts, and subject matter experts. You and the team design, develop, implement, and maintain all solutions and communicate your progress with stakeholders. This is a remote position with occasional on-camera meetings.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as assigned):
  • Propose system design of Power Platform products to meet new project requirements.
  • Work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Work with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical, facilitating interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Drive innovation and collaboration with the newest advancements and features within the Power Platform.
  • Define criteria and conduct proof of concepts, proof of value, and prototyping to evaluate product and feature value and consideration for the organization.
  • Partner with IT Leaders on business case development with careful consideration of migrating from current or legacy solutions and approaches.
  • Provide post-production support including the implementation of fixes and enhancements.
  • Design and build Model-Driven Apps that leverage Dataverse for structured business processes.
  • Develop and manage integrations with third-party systems using standard connectors, custom connectors, Dataverse APIs, and Azure services (Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management).
  • Implement ALM best practices for deploying and managing Power Platform solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Design end-to-end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with the staff to identify, address, and mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with the Power Platform is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the entire Power Platform stack (PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and Power Pages).
  • Business-to-technology translation skills are essential for identifying ways to apply solutions to help clients increase business value and performance.
  • An eye for clean, easy to use, UI/UX implementations.
  • Experience developing Canvas and Model Driven applications.
  • Experience with Data Engineering concepts including:
  • Data pipeline implementation.
  • Dataverse and developing Power Apps applications that leverage Dataverse as the data source.
  • Migrating Various data sources and workflows to PowerApps and Power Automate.
  • Using the Dataverse API for data/service integration.
  • Designing data models and relationships to support Model-Driven Apps.
  • Understanding of data privacy and information security best practices.
  • Experience in Automating Business Processes with Power Automate.
  • Ability to design, configure, and build custom connectors for PowerApps and Power Automate.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with Azure services (Functions, Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps).
  • Working knowledge of ALM practices in Power Platform, including solution packaging, deployment, and versioning.
  • Familiarity with M365 components such as Lists, Forms, Pages, and Loop.
  • Knowledge of efficiency-enhancing services within the M365 environment, including Copilot.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Desired Skills:
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience is required.

  • Provide critical thinking, problem solving, design, and most critically, attention to performance, scalability, reliability, availability at the system and component level.
  • Stakeholder and customer management skills.
  • The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
  • US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to consistently use a keyboard, mouse, computer, and other office productivity tools.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, and on and off camera with videoconferencing tools.
  • Must be able to observe details at close range to assess document accuracy and to identify discrepancies in documents and data.
  • Must be able to convey information clearly and effectively to team members and clients.
  • For remote positions, a minimum standard internet speed for optimal performance of 50 x 25 (50 mbps download x 25 mbps upload) is required.
  • For remote positions, a dedicated workspace, free from ongoing interruptions, is required to protect sensitive but unclassified federal information.
