Our core competencies include IT professional support services, software development, cloud services, IT Operations, Agile project management, and GIS services.Job Summary:NexGen is currently seeking a Power Platform QA/Tester to ensure the quality, functionality, and compliance of Microsoft Power Platform applications—including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse—used across federal government projects. This role emphasizes leveraging Microsoft’s out-of-the-box testing capabilities for Power Platform—such as Test Studio for Power Apps, Power Automate Flow Checker, and the Solution Checker for Dataverse—as well as integrating with automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual and automated testing, Agile ceremonies, and working within federal compliance standards. You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, business analysts, and subject matter experts. This is a remote position with occasional on-camera meetings.Supervisory Responsibilities:There are no supervisory responsibilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as assigned):Use out-of-the-box Power Platform QA tools including Power Apps Test Studio, Power Automate Flow Checker, and Solution Checker to validate app reliability, performance, and best practices.Develop and maintain automated UI test cases tools for Canvas and Model-Driven Apps (ie Zephyr).Implement API testing for Dataverse and custom connectors using tools such as Postman or REST client frameworks.Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners in Agile teams to define acceptance criteria and test strategies.Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Power Platform applications.Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing across Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Power BI dashboards, and Dataverse.Validate system and data integrity, ensuring solutions meet federal security, compliance, and accessibility requirements (e.g., Section 508).Document and track defects, issues, and test results using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.Support automated testing frameworks and explore opportunities to improve testing efficiency.Support automated test execution as part of CI/CD pipelines and contribute to environment validation.Provide input on continuous improvement of QA processes within the Agile environment.Ensure alignment with federal government standards, security protocols, and documentation requirements.Other duties may be assigned.Technical Skills:3+ years of experience as a QA/Tester, with 1+ years testing Microsoft Power Platform solutions.Experience testing Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports/dashboards.Hands-on experience with Power Apps Test Studio, Power Automate Flow Checker, and Solution Checker.Experience with Dataverse API and validating integrations with connectors and custom connectors.Knowledge of automated testing frameworks.Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).Familiarity with test management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, etc.).Experience with federal government projects in an Agile environment.Education:Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience is required.Additional Requirements:Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams.The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.Physical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.Must be able to consistently use a keyboard, mouse, computer, and other office productivity tools.Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, and on and off camera with videoconferencing tools.Must be able to observe details at close range to assess document accuracy and to identify discrepancies in documents and data.Must be able to convey information clearly and effectively to team members and clients.For remote positions, a minimum standard internet speed for optimal performance of 50 x 25 (50 mbps download x 25 mbps upload) is required.For remote positions, a dedicated workspace, free from ongoing interruptions, is required to protect sensitive but unclassified federal information.Compensation: $45 per hour to $55 per hour(The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions.)NexGen Technologies, Inc., is an equal opportunity employer.(Last Revision: 2025-09-02)
