Job Description:Salary is 75% of $103,716 annuallyAt Hilo Medical Center, a nationally-recognized "Top Performing" hospital, the Registered Professional Nurse is a valuable member of our team. We are currently seeking a Registered Professional Nurse III for our busy Angiography Services Unit. This position will be responsible to independently develop and implement nursing care plans for patients; provide nursing care treatment and educational services; may assign and direct the work of lower-level registered nurses and nursing assistants; may serve as a charge nurse on an assigned shift and performs other related duties as assigned.The purpose of our Angiography Services Unit is to provide a broad range of diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures. All procedures are performed by a physician and assisted by a team of Radiologic Technologists and Professional Registered Nurses.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated, the required education and experience may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experience is credited based on a 40-hour workweek.EDUCATION: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's Degree is highly desirable.Evidence of the appropriate training (e.g. official transcript of diploma) should be submitted with the application to be given credit for education. A legible photocopy will be accepted. However, Hilo Medical Center reserves the right to request an official copy.EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess full-time work experience as a Registered Professional Nurse for a total of Six (6) months where the employee independently provided nursing care to patients in a clinic, hospital, or institution.SELECTIVE CERTIFICATION: Of the required one-half (1/2) year of professional nursing work experience, one-half (1/2) year of professional nursing experience working in a critical care unit (Emergency Services or Intensive Care). The required experience must have been gained within the past two (2) years.SUBSTITUTION: Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university school of nursing may be substituted for all the required experience. Submit copy of master's degree with the application.CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is required one (1) month after employment. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) in Health Care Provider (adult, child and infant) is preferred. Please submit copy of certification with the application.LICENSURE: A valid State of Hawaii as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.
