Club Sport Coach - Women's Flag Football

- Contributes to the educational mission of the University by coordinating the instruction of student-athletes in the sport that they have been assigned to coach.
- Recruits student athletes for the respective club sport program (Women's flag football).
- Instructs methods and strategies; coaches student in the sport.
- Provides motivation, both athletic and academic, to student athletes.
- If needed, will assist student leaders in scheduling practices, games and meets.
- Supervises assistant coach/coaches.
- Will assist students in with team travel and at times will be required to supervise players while traveling.
- Will work with team leaders in providing to provide the Director of Club Sports with update rosters.
- Coordinate with team leaders the manner in which team scores will be reported to the media for home and away games.
- Operates the program under the rules and regulations of the university and league rules; understanding that a coach can be suspended for a period of time without pay or terminated if found to be involved in significant or repetitive rule violations.
- Employees are expected to maintain the confidentiality of all confidential and proprietary information (including but not limited to: student personal information, student grades, employee personal information, etc.), both during and after their employment with the University. If a faculty or staff member has a question about the confidentiality of a particular matter, he/she should consult their supervisor. - Review and apply all policies and procedures outlined in the university's Affirmative Action Plan.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ability to evaluate potential student athletes during the recruiting process.
- Knowledge of league rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of coaching and teaching techniques and the ability to effectively use them;
- Ability to read and comprehend various forms, documentation, files and information in the department.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to receive telephone calls, respond to inquiries and communicate with others by telephone.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to be able to verify accuracy of record keeping and athletics information.
- Ability to handle routine office operations (typing, filing, record keeping, etc.)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Ability to travel when necessary.
- Ability to drive a personal or university vehicle for the purpose of university business on a regular basis.
- Valid driver's license required. License must meet insurance company rules and regulations for driving underwriting criteria.
- Must take and pass the "American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer."
