Riverdale is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach.The season begins on August 14 and runs through October 23, with the possibility of extension based on performance in the Metropolitan Independent Football League (MIFL).Practice and Competition Schedule:Weekday practices: 3:30-5:45 PMGames: Saturdays throughout the seasonRiverdale is one of the few independent schools in New York City with a stadium-sized synthetic turf field on campus, providing an exceptional environment for training and competition.The assistant coach will work closely with an experienced staff of four coaches and contribute to all aspects of the program. Previous high school or collegiate coaching experience is required, and preference will be given to candidates with head coaching experience.Ideal candidates will:Bring a strong understanding of the technical and tactical elements of the gameFoster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and resiliencePrioritize both physical safety and psychological support for student-athletesDemonstrate a commitment to helping students reach their full potential both on and off the fieldExpectations/ Requirements
  • Computer Literacy (email, texting Google drives)
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • CDC “Heads Up” Concussion On-Line Course
  • Current and/or updated Physical Exam
  • Pre-employment background check and fingerprinting required
$3,700 - $7,500 a yearCoaching stipends will be determined by using the salary structure template:1. Coach's years of experience will be determined by their cumulative coaching experience2. The structure is based on years of experience, not seasons, and not the number of teamscoached3. If a coach coaches multiple sports and teams in a calendar year, this will count asone year of experience. Years of experience are not sport-specific4. Coaches must submit their years of experience in the format requested, prior to receivinga contract. Playing experience does not count towards years of experience. Summer camp does not count towards years of experience5. Sports have been categorized into traditional and non-traditional sports6. All middle school and junior varsity teams/sports have been categorized astraditional7. Non-traditional varsity teams/sports require coaches to complete theirresponsibilities for their sport, on a consistent basis, outside of the traditionalcoaching hours. 3:45-6:00 framework.8. Coaches of non-traditional teams/sports will receive an additional 15%compensation for that season.Preseason:8/19 - 9/3; Monday through Saturday (9-12 pm)Regular Season:9/7 - 10/23; Monday through Saturday (3:30 - 5:45pm)Post Season: MIFL Quarter Final (10/30/21), MIFL Semi-Final (11/6/21), MIFL Semi-Final (11/13/21)
